Lafayette “Pet” Sharp House
This galleried frame house was built around 1850 by Lafayette “Pet” Sharp, a cabinet maker.
The house is very simple in detail, with six over six pane windows and double front doors framed by narrow glass panes. A typical gallery, once surrounded by banisters, is covered by a low pitch Louisiana roof.
The entrance opens into a dog-run hall, flanked by double pen fireplace rooms. The house was relocated from a nearby site.
The house is owned by the Bennett family.
